Judy Webster's Favourite Links

Most well-constructed genealogy sites can be located via Cyndi's List or GENUKI (described below), or search engines such as Google. Instead of spending my time fixing broken links and duplicating what is available elsewhere on the Internet, I prefer to create pages with new information. That's why I have only listed a few Web pages that are, in my opinion, essential reading for anyone with family history interests in Queensland or the United Kingdom.
You can go directly to a site by clicking on the title, or print this page for future reference. If you find a broken link, make a note of the wording of the error message and send those details to me via my Visitor's Book.

Some of my other interests in life
Apart from family history, my interests include travel, reading, gardening, photography, kayaking, fishing, paper-making, collecting postcards, and watching tennis and cricket. However nowadays I don't get much time for any of these, as I have two part-time careers (medical laboratory scientist and professional genealogist).
- Travel: Some favourite photos from my travels are on my Web site. The current selection features Yorkshire churches and various places in Ireland and Queensland.
- Favourite books on Australian history: These include 'Weevils in the Flour' by Wendy Lowenstein (a brilliantly edited collection of oral histories telling a fascinating story of the Great Depression in Australia) and Blainey's 'The Tyranny of Distance'.
- Other favourite books: Many and varied. Practically anything by Jon Cleary, Jeffrey Archer, John Grisham, Martha Grimes, Elizabeth George, Ngaio Marsh, P.D. James, Alistair MacLean and Douglas Adams... and (because I love the Highlands and Islands of Scotland) The Hills is Lonely and subsequent titles by Lillian Beckwith.
- Health and Natural Medicine: Whenever possible I like to use natural remedies and herbal products. My sister Robyn Webster is a registered nurse, midwife, and A.N.T.A. accredited naturopath. Robyn has a clinic at Fernvale (between Ipswich and Lowood) on Tuesday and Wednesday, and at Fingal Head (south of Coolangatta) on Friday. Her services include herbal medicine, nutrition, iridology, therapeutic massage, homeopathy, and lifestyle counselling. Email
(type this address into an email) and ask for Robyn's phone number.
